With just over a week to go till we open our Farm for Open Farm Sunday (11th June) we are delighted that this year’s tree planting on the farm is now complete.
There have been 3,700 Nordmann Fir planted this year, by the Danish Contracting team. These trees will form part of our “pick your own” Christmas Tree service that we hope to offer in coming years. The machine used for planting will be on display at our open day so you can see how it all works. Planting that number of trees by hand would take far too long!
The container grown trees planted in 2020 are growing well and don’t seem to have been deterred by the cold and wet start to 2023 that we have had here in North East Scotland. Although some warmth and sun will be welcomed by the trees as well as by the farmers and growers!
